About St Gabriel's School
An innovative and inspiring independent day school educating boys 6 months to 11 years and girls 6 months to 18 years. Situated in the spectacular setting of Sandleford Priory, to the south of Newbury, St Gabriel’s occupies a beautiful Grade 1 listed building in 54 acres of parkland landscaped by "Capability" Brown.
Pupils experience exceptionally high levels of achievement in so many aspects of school life and have the opportunity, resources and confidence to exploit fully their natural individual potential. In 2019, results were outstanding with 93% of grades at A*-B at A level and over 55% of grades 9-7 at GCSE.
However, St Gabriel’s is more than pure academic excellence; by fuelling pupils’ intellectual curiosity, through a vibrant school community and a vast array of clubs and activities, pupils broaden their horizons, develop confidence and self-belief and achieve an educational balance.
St Gabriel’s is a safe, secure and happy environment from which balanced, grounded young pupils achieve excellent academic results, alongside a rigour that enables them to successfully meet future challenges in our changing society.
The Sixth Form at St Gabriel’s is special because of the strong relationships between staff and pupils. My teachers have given me the confidence to grow both academically and as a person; they are always there to support me and challenge me intellectually.- Head Girl
Thank you so much for everything St Gabriel’s has done for my children; it has provided a truly caring environment with the children’s best interests at its heart.- Parent
It has been easy to settle in to such a supportive and welcoming school, with lots of training and development opportunities. It is a pleasure to work with such enthusiastic and passionate young women.- Mrs Wellard-Hughes, Head of English
