St Mary's College

St Mary’s College (Crosby) is an independent, co-educational school for children aged 0-18, located in Sefton, Liverpool. The school has a Christian ethos, specifically Roman Catholic, but welcomes pupils of all faiths. The total pupil roll is around 830.  

St Mary’s College was founded in 1919 as a Catholic school committed to supporting the educational, spiritual and charitable principles of Blessed Edmund Rice, founder of the Congregation of Christian Brothers.  The college is governed by a lay board of trustees to whom authority was transferred from the Christian Brothers in 2006.  The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is located in a separate Victorian house.

St Mary’s College aims to offer a Catholic education and focuses on promoting holistic and balanced development within a framework of love, order, stability and affection. The school strives to bring the Gospel to bear in all aspects of school life and policy. The pupils' education is designed to embody the essentials of an Edmund Rice education, which enables pupils to reach their full potential. These essentials include: instilling a lifelong appetite for the adventure of learning, a sense of compassion and service and a zest for living life to the full; developing informed, socially aware pupils with a strong sense of justice; and committing to the holistic development of pupils with the support of an extensive programme of extra-curricular opportunities.
