About Stanley Primary School
Stanley Primary School was formed in September 2010 following the amalgamation of the very successful Stanley Junior School and Stanley Infant and Nursery School. The school is currently expanding to become a fully 4 form entry school by 2016.
The school has been part of a major refurbishment project, which includes the construction of 11 new classrooms, a children's centre and a unit provision for children with Autistic Spectrum condition. The new project has created a cohesive building bringing all year groups together, the project is due to be completed by September 2014.
Stanley Primary School is placed in the heart of a residential area with excellent access to transport links. The school is ambitious in its aim to be the hub for its local community. There is a wide programme of extended schools activities which is complemented by a range of lettings to local groups.
The residential properties within the admissions area for the school are mainly privately owned, there is a small element of social housing adjacent to the school and within the locality. The numbers pupils with English as an additional language are slightly above national average (Ofsted – Nov 2011) however students with a statement of learning to support their special educational need are lower.
Stanley Primary is extremely well supported by the parents and families of children who attend the school and there is a flourishing Parent and Staff Association. Staff are fully committed to working at the school and make the most of the professional development opportunities which are presented to them.
The schools' amalgamation provided the ideal opportunity to undertake a range of strategic developments such as the new leadership structure, the enhancement of the curriculum and the use of the premises by the local community.
Stanley Primary School is an exciting and vibrant place to work, we warmly encourage visits to meet our staff and children.
