The British School of Kuwait (BSK) was founded in 1978. With its kindergarten, BSK caters for 3200 students from over 70 nationalities. In March 2013, and again in March 2016, BSK was awarded British School Overseas (BSO) status, enabling the school to take newly-qualified teachers through induction in partnership with Buckinghamshire LEA. The latest BSO inspection report has been published on the Department for Education website and a link placed on the BSK website at The schools rating from this inspection report is "Outstanding".

BSK follows the National Curriculum of England with public examinations at GCSE, IGCSE, AS and Advanced Level.  Details of success in public examinations and destination universities can also be found on the website.

Technology is embedded into the culture at BSK.  The school utilises the SIMS system, all classrooms are equipped with SMART boards, all students are equipped with iPad or laptop devices and the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is used extensively.

The school offers an extensive range of extra-curricular activities with students prepared for awards such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award at bronze, silver and gold levels; the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music; the Royal Academy of Dance; the British Ballet Organisation and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.  BSK is involved in all national and regional sporting competitions as well as the Model United Nations.  BSK students have represented Kuwait in the World Debating finals for over 10 years.  The programme of local and overseas fieldtrips is extensive as are links to charitable institutions.
