About The Hampshire School, Chelsea
The Hampshire School is situated in Chelsea, south-west London. It is a mixed, non-denominational independent day school for children aged 3-13. Thanks to its location, The Hampshire School is well positioned for cultural and academic days out, and it prides itself on its nurturing atmosphere, with respect and support integral to the school’s ethos. There are approximately 250 pupils.
Founded in 1944 by June Hampshire, the school was born from Ms Hampshire’s desire to offer an all-round education, enabling children to gain outstanding academic results combined with a deep appreciation for culture.

Values and vision
As well as taking great care in preparing pupils for the 11+ and 13+ Common Entrance Examinations, The Hampshire School also places emphasis on creating a sense of belonging for children. The school has a strong anti-bullying policy. The motto “Care for each other” is in the School Charter.
Alongside the academic subjects, the arts, sports and music form a key part of The Hampshire School's curriculum.
"Pupils’ personal development is excellent. They understand their personal strengths and weakness and how these might develop, and demonstrate emotional maturity. Their behaviour, sense of responsibility and tolerance for each other’s differences within their international school community are excellent. Pupils’ personal development is well supported by excellent pastoral care. Relationships are warm and friendly and great priority is given to each pupil’s well-being."
