About The Laurus Trust
The Laurus Trust is a highly successful and rapidly growing multi-academy trust in the North West of England, with Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS), the founding school, at its centre.
Our vision is for everyone regardless of background or circumstance to be inspired, to thrive in all environments, to recognise what it takes to succeed, to set aspirational goals and to work hard to achieve them.
All our Laurus Schools are hugely oversubscribed and have a reputation, both locally and further afield, for outstanding teaching and learning through the relentless pursuit of excellence and the determination to ensure that every child succeeds. In the recent Staff Engagement Survey 97% of our employees stated that they would recommend working for Laurus Trust to their friends. In 2019/20 our average Teacher turnover rate for Secondary schools was 3.75%, which falls way below the National Average of 15%.
Over the years the Trust has expanded to now include 5 Free Secondary Schools and 2 Free Primary Schools, with The Laurus Alternative Provision School in the pre-opening phase. This includes;
- Cheadle Hulme High School - our Founding School
- Gorsey Bank Primary School - joined the Trust in 2016
- Cheadle Hulme Primary School – opened in September 2018
- Laurus Cheadle Hulme – opened in September 2018
- Laurus Ryecroft – opened in September 2018
- Didsbury High School – opened in September 2019
- Hazel Grove High School – joined the Trust in September 2019

The Altius Alliance specialises in School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT). In November 2017, the SCITT was judged Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted.
The aim of the Altius Alliance within the Laurus Trust is to ensure that course participants learn from the best to be the best because children deserve nothing less. The Laurus Trust is committed to providing high quality Initial Teacher Training that serves the local and regional needs of teacher supply and to build its own teaching and leadership capacity.
Training at the Altius Alliance means that you will gain the opportunity to hone your ‘practical teaching skills in an intellectually rigorous context.’ (Ofsted 2017)
Following the success its Ofsted Inspection in 2017 the Altius Alliance expanded its range of subjects within the secondary provision and launched its first primary course in September 2019.
The nucleus of the Trust is our multi-functional and dedicated Central Services Team who provides continuous operational support to all of our schools across the Trust. This includes HR, Recruitment, Payroll, Finance, Marketing, IT, Estates & Facilities, and Data & Exams. Each team works tirelessly to ensure all services run smoothly and efficiently, enabling our teaching staff to focus on delivering an outstanding education for our students.
