About The Misbourne
As Headteacher it gives me great pleasure, on behalf of the governors, staff and students to welcome you to The Misbourne. Thank you for showing an interest in working with us.
This is a good school where every student really does matter and where our team of professional and passionate staff, work hard to instill the belief in each of them that they can achieve more than they ever thought possible.
We believe that there are three things that are important to working in a school. Firstly, the students. We are fortunate to have polite and respectful students with well supported families who on the whole, want to work hard and do well but for some, lack the self-belief to really achieve their full potential. We are oversubscribed and looking forward to future growth both in the main school and our sixth form.
Secondly, a supportive staff body and investment in continued professional development. Staff are happy to work here and are very rightly proud of their school. They are supported by a comprehensive training programme that takes into account individual roles as well as career progression and aspirations. We are linked to two teaching schools and take a lead role in delivering training session for trainees from across Buckinghamshire.
Thirdly, our facilities. We are fortunate to have excellent facilities across the curriculum including a new building for the Sixth Form, English department and school café; extensive playing fields; three new IT suites and plans for a brand-new sports centre on the horizon. We have recently introduced Office 365 and are looking to develop more innovative approaches to working collaboratively both in the classroom and as professionals.
We believe that there are no barriers to learning that cannot be overcome. We strive for educational excellence in every lesson, every day, through a climate of high expectations, which are actively promoted in all aspects of school life. The Misbourne provides a learning environment that allows all students to flourish through mutual respect, kindness and a strong desire to achieve.
Through inspiring teaching; excellent pastoral care and strong partnerships with families and the wider community, our students leave us with the qualifications, skills and values needed to lead happy and successful lives and we are looking for similarly dedicated and inspirational colleagues to join us.
This is such an exciting time for the school and we welcome applications from prospective employees who share our vision, values and aspirations for students.
If you would like to visit us and see for yourself, I would encourage you to make arrangements for a tour via the school office firstname.lastname@example.org. Staff and students are exceptionally proud of our school and we would love to show you around.

Values and Vision
Misbourne has a culture based around students’ love of learning and a desire to flourish academically. It is an environment of respect and tolerance that promotes and reinforces British values such as democracy and individual liberty. Its broad and balanced curriculum shows students how they can influence decision-making through democratic process, how freedom to hold other faiths and beliefs is protected in law and an understanding of the importance of combatting discrimination. Its Five Year Vision plan from 2014-2019 focuses on student and staff leadership to prepare students for the challenges of the future.
The school has held arts and technology status since 2006, and holds high attainment in art, drama, modern languages, humanities and photography.
“Achievement is good and rising rapidly. The majority of students make the progress expected of them. Leaders and managers, including the governing body, know what the school does well and where it can do even better. Students’ spiritual, social, moral and cultural development is good. It is underpinned by the school’s strong respect for all individuals as valued members of the community.”
