About The Phoenix Private School
The Phoenix Private School teaches the British curriculum to approximately 360 pupils in Doha, Qatar. The city of Doha is the nation’s capital and largest city, with a population of 800,000. Students at Phoenix are taught between the ages of 3-14, and derive from over 50 countries speaking 30 languages. School facilities include science labs, Learning Resource Centre,
large sports area, SEN Centre, and music room. The Virtual Learning Environment provides access to lesson resources in class and from home. Extra-curricular activities include martial arts, gymnastics, gardening and cooking. Phoenix TV is an educational tool, in which students are granted their very own News Studio covering changes in the school and local items. Trips include to Al Zubarah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The British Curriculum ranges from the Early Years Foundation stage to IGCSE preparation at Key Stage 3. Teaching also contains elements of the from the Arabic/Islamic curriculum. As part of its drive to create a healthy learning environment Phoenix is a Pure Air Zone.
Values and vision
The Phoenix vision is to build on its past success, now focused on developing a broader holistic curriculum allowing more creativity to enable enrichment. There is a firm belief that pupils benefit in all areas of learning and mental development through creative stimulation.
Personal academic aims and focus are to improve the standards of teaching and learning across the school as a whole. Principal and staff are dedicated to modelling positive behaviour and developing future leaders and global citizens.
