About The Radcliffe School

The Radcliffe School is a co-educational secondary comprehensive located in Milton Keynes. It has around 1,100 students aged 11-18, 250 of whom attend the sixth form.

Radcliffe has dedicated provision for students who have autistic spectrum disorders. Although the vast majority of learners are educated on a single site, a small number of older pupils do make use of off-site provision for vocational courses.

Values and vision

The motto of The Radcliffe School is “Inspire and Achieve”. The school highly values the ability of its pupils to drive their own education, while still receiving support from teachers when necessary.

In keeping with its comprehensive ethos, The Radcliffe School provides a diverse and engaging curriculum, with a broad range of academic and vocational subjects. This is part of the secondary school’s ultimate goal to provide its students with the skills necessary to succeed in the real world, including proper discipline and work ethic.

Ofsted report

“Pupils are explicitly taught the attitudes and approaches they need to succeed in their studies. In most lessons, inspectors observed pupils demonstrating these. For example, a pupil in an English class added to the advice given by his teacher on how they could best work independently by confidently suggesting to his classmates that they should make use of the quotations from Shakespeare displayed in the room.”
