About Wenona School

Wenona School is a non-denominational boarding school for girls, located in North Sydney. Currently, 1080 girls are enrolled and are taught by 102 teaching staff. The school caters for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12.

The school was established in 1886. The current attendance rate is 96%. Wenona School operates on the proud history of girls’ education. Teachers at the school engage in professional development to ensure the delivery of high quality learning experiences for students.

Facilities 

Wenona is currently home to approximately 50 boarders from Year 7-12 who live on campus. Wenona has a well-equipped library, which operates as a study centre for senior students in the evening, a pool and a gymnasium. The learning environments at the school combine modern and heritage styles. 

Curriculum 

The New South Wales Curriculum is employed by the school across all year levels. Senior students are well supported to achieve the Higher School Certificate (HSC). ICT is used to engage all students in the curriculum, which is balanced with a variety of extracurricular activities. 

School ethos

Pastoral care is a vital part of Wenona life. Staff at the school actively support students in their academic and pastoral endeavours. Wenona aims to provide a caring community within which students can develop a strong sense of integrity and purpose. International and local service learning is encouraged to allow students to serve the community. It is hoped that students will graduate to be a positive voice within the local community and beyond.
