We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible, skilled and motivated 1:1 and Healthcare Teaching Assistant, initially until August 2019 but contract may be extended for a further one year depending on pupil numbers.  The successful candidate will be friendly, hard working and have a good sense of humour. Applicants should be able to use their own initiative, be innovative and work well as part of a team. The successful candidate will provide support for pupils with medical conditions to ensure they are supported in school so that they can play a full and active role and achieve their potential. The applicant will be responsible for safe administration of medicine and feeding programmes and will provide support as necessary for children who need assisted toileting and feeding. Applicants should preferably hold a relevant childcare qualification, although training may be given.

Applicants should:

- Be committed to continuing to raise the achievement and attainment of our children

- Have excellent literacy and numeracy skills

- Be enthusiastic, resourceful, caring and understanding

- Preferably have some previous experience of working with children with special needs (although this is not a necessity)

- Be able to work on a 1:1 basis with children who have an EHP or work as a general class Teaching Assistant

- Support pupils with medical conditions and provide safe administration of feeding programmes (training will be provided)

- Be willing to undertake any necessary training including first aid

- Be able to work in a team sharing good practices and developing resources and materials

- Be willing to supervise children and breaks and lunchtimes in clubs or on the playground and field

Hours of work: Monday to Friday - 31.25 hours per week (worked from 8:45am to 3:30pm). Hours will include a daily lunch duty. Term time only.
