About the role:
A school in Derby is looking for a teaching assistant to help with some intervention work in their key stage 1 classes starting in September. You will mainly be working with children who are struggling with the work and have fallen behind the rest of the class, or those who show challenging behaviour in the classroom and need additional help. The role will require someone with experience as a teaching assistant, ideally having dealt with a 1:1 position in the past.
The role is advertised on a 0.6 basis meaning it will consist of a 3-day week, some weeks it may be 2 days and two afternoons, depending on what the class teacher requires. In addition to this if someone is looking for more hours, then ABC teachers can provide other work on a supply basis if needed.
The school itself is located near the centre of Derby, so is easily accessible from all of the surrounding areas. The school would rather someone who is local as they may ask for extra days each week in order to cover their other classes.

To register with us, all candidates will be required to attend a face to face interview, hold an enhanced DBS check in Child Workforce on the Update Service and also gain references to cover the last 2 years. Please note that all teachers must hold valid QTS. For any Teaching Assistant roles you must hold an NVQ Level 2 or above, a relevant educational degree or a minimum of 3 months relevant experience within a UK school in the last 5 years.
