For September 2018 we are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and well-qualified 2nd in Science (Physics) for this oversubscribed comprehensive school with a long record of high student achievement.      

Last year 74% of students gained A*-C grades in English and Maths at GCSE, and our motivated students make excellent progress. In 2015 OFSTED graded the school as outstanding in all areas and commented “Students have outstanding attitudes to learning and take a pride in their work”. 

The Science Department is supportive and successful and runs an extensive programme of specialist activities. Science A Levels are extremely popular in our Sixth Form and the ability to teach Physics to A Level is essential.  

Applicants should be keenly interested in how children learn, as well as committed to equal opportunities and a collaborative approach to teaching and learning. The school offers staff excellent resources in a state-of-the-art building, a wide ranging professional development programme and support for career progression.

Whitmore High School is a mixed, non-denominational community comprehensive secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-18. It is located in the London Borough of Harrow, and is operated by the local council.

Whitmore was founded in 1974, and has about 1,600 pupils.
