This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced, energetic and visionary teacher and leader to play a pivotal role leading the academic life of Streatham & Clapham High School.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for delivering the ambitious vision and development of the senior-school curriculum and for promoting the highest standards of teaching and learning. Driving constant academic improvement within the school community, you will ensure that no member of the school remains satisfied with the status quo.  

The role also has responsibility for curriculum planning and implementation (including the construction of the 11-18 timetable) and ensures that teaching initiatives and innovations maximise learning and enable each pupil to achieve beyond expectations.  Above all, you will ensure that the school meets its strategic academic aims.

You will also have the opportunity to teach within your subject specialism.  

If you have successful teaching experience across the full age range 11–18, up to and including A Level, a track record of consistently enabling pupils to achieve high standards, with a clear understanding of recent developments in teaching and learning and successful experience of curriculum leadership and management we should be delighted to hear from you.

Major investment in exciting development and refurbishment plans includes a new Sixth Form Centre and a Creative Arts Centre.

SCHS is abuzz with activity.  Pupils regularly put on ambitious drama productions.  The school has four choirs, a full orchestra and a variety of chamber-music groups.  Its pupils participate in a legion of sporting activities, in which they achieve great success.  SCHS’s Gymnastics teams, for instance, were the best in England in the 2012 National Gymnastics Competition.  However, pupils attain success across the spectrum of activity, from achieving outstanding results in public-speaking competitions, to winning prizes for the crash-testing of vehicles at Imperial College; from gaining awards for eco-action and sustainability, to trekking across the Atlas Mountains in Morocco or to the base camp of Mount Everest.
