Actual Annual Salary: £20,487-£22,620 (Under 5 Years’ Service)

Contract: Fixed term for 1 Year, 37 hours x 39 weeks

Start date: 1 September 2022 – 31 August 2023

Minerva Learning Trust is an expanding Sheffield based multi-academy Trust with a vision of providing outstanding education for all the students within our schools. The Trust is passionate that all students should see their time at school as happy and fulfilling with their potential developed to the utmost.

As part of our post-covid catch up strategy, we are looking to appoint an academic intervention worker to support students across the school in their development of literacy and numeracy skills. The successful candidate with be trained to Level 3, HLTA status or equivalent or have a strong experience working with students in school. The main responsibilities will be:

• To provide tutoring for targeted students who are currently not accessing school due to anxiety

• To provide individual and small group intervention to vulnerable students supporting development of literacy and numeracy skills to ensure they are more prepared for qualification courses and examinations 

• To address misconceptions with targeted students in maths and English – with support and guidance from subject specialist teachers

• To effectively communicate with subject leaders and classrooms teachers to plan delivery and track progress and impact of targeted interventions

• To work with the SEND and Pastoral Teams to offer further academic support and to help reduce barriers to identified students accessing the curriculum

• To support effective self-regulation of targeted students by providing in class support as required
