The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun is looking to appoint an exceptional teacher and leader to join our talented team. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Primary Phase, you will be part of an Academic Leadership Team of four highly dedicated teaching professionals, helping shape the future direction of the curriculum and leading a team of teachers and TAs. You will also be a key player in the school’s strategic direction, reporting to the Deputy Head of Primary Phase. This middle management role is the perfect position for someone looking to further their career in school leadership. Academic Leaders will be expected to:
- Relentlessly pursue outstanding academic performance for all students.
- Lead a whole school curriculum/strategic area.
- Collaborate with the Academic Leadership Team (ALT) and the wider school community.
- Be responsible for a phase of teachers and TAs, ensuring a relentless drive to support professionals to be outstanding practitioners.
- Ensure the phase is a well-organised, efficient and effective hive of purposeful activity from the start to the end of each school day.
- Support a culture of professional learning within the teaching body.
- Encourage active communication with the marketing and admissions team.
- Promote our Mission through the opportunities we offer, the impact we make, the leadership we demonstrate and the respect everyone deserves.
- Possess a creative and pragmatic mind with the ability to lead and collaborate on innovations in teaching and learning and the broader activity of the school.
