Academic Services Officer


Commencing: Term 1, 2019 (Full Time)


The Academic Services Officer is responsible for the administration and coordination of a range of tasks related to Academic organisation and support within the College. The Academic Services Officer is a key source of information and channel of communication to a variety of stakeholders including students, parents and staff in regards to assisting with timetabling and reporting, and co-ordinating parent teacher meetings.


The key criteria for this position are:

  • The ability to work effectively and cohesively with staff, students and parents.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs: Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Strong attention to detail with proficient literacy, writing and proofing skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to forward plan.
  • Support of the Catholic ethos and learning culture of the College.


Desirable criteria:

  • Have a recent working knowledge of a school database, preferably Edumate.
  • Appropriate clerical qualifications.

Rosebank College is a mainstream, independent, secondary school for girls and boys aged between 11, in year seven, to 18, in year 12. It is a Roman Catholic day school based in Five Dock, New South Wales, Australia. It was founded in 1867 and at the moment, it has 1,200 pupils on the roll. There are around 44 people working at the school also. The school colours are blue and gold. It is run by the Good Samaritan Education.

Rosebank College’s mantra is: ‘Sursum Corda’. This translates to: ‘Lift Up Your Hearts’, which is also the school’s song. The curriculum is both enriching and balanced. The aim of the school is to help the students to gain personal, spiritual, social and physical development. Academic achievement is also very important to the school and teachers with specialist training aim to help the pupils in every way possible. The staff nurture and support the students when they need them. The aim is to make sure the pupils develop an enthusiasm for learning for the rest of their lives. Rosebank College follows Christian values. It helps pupils, staff and parents to get a closer connection with God and Jesus Christ. The children should demonstrate a sense of compassion, love, kindness, peace and tolerance towards others. They will also learn leadership skills while at the school to make sure they gain employment skills. Students are able to take part in extra-curricular activities. This includes over 30 different clubs. Most of these activities are available on Thursday afternoons, and include physical and social clubs.
