About the Role:

You will provide effective administrative support to the Academy Council, providing advice to the Academy Council on Oasis governance and procedural matters, ensuring the Academy Council is properly established and to manage information effectively in accordance with the requirements of OCL or legal requirements in relation to pupil exclusions and procedures for dealing with parental complaints.

Working Pattern:

Part Time / Term Time Only (up to 15 hours per academy council meeting, plus an additional 30 hours over the Academic year for additional duties)

Our Ideal Candidate will:

  • Have experience of official minute taking
  • Have experience of governance in a academy/LA school setting/corporate governance
  • Be fully computer literate, and have regular access to email and standard Microsoft Office software
  • Have the ability to work with complex or bespoke database systems for recordkeeping
  • Have the willingness to attend relevant training
  • Have a clear understanding of confidentiality
  • Have an understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.


Experience of working in a school environment is particularly welcome. You will form part of our hard-working but collegial and collaborative administration team.

Oasis Academy Silvertown is a successful, oversubscribed inclusive secondary academy in the Royal Docks area of East London. Oasis Silvertown received its first Ofsted Inspection in May 2017 and were delighted to be awarded “good” with 3 “outstanding” judgements for Leadership and Management, Personal Development, Behaviour, Welfare and Student Outcomes.
