Part Time – 30 hours a week, Term Time plus 2 weeks

Salary: NJC Grade 8 £23,866 - £26,470 per annum pro rata

(Actual salary in the region of £17,192 - £19,068)

Faringdon Academy of Schools is seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and proactive Facilities Officer to join our friendly, professional team.  This is a wide-ranging, ‘hands-on’ role, with responsibility for managing the maintenance and improvement of school property and assets. The post holder will supervise a team of caretaking and catering staff, oversee health and safety compliance, and will be required to provide project support to the Academy Operations Manager. 

Key requirements for this role include:

  • Experience of facilities management;
  • Experience of managing and motivating staff;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise tactfully and assertively with all stakeholders; 
  • A solutions focussed approach to tasks; and
  • Experience of health and safety in a work environment.

In addition, you will be highly organised; able to prioritise; and motivated to work independently under your own initiative. Experience within an educational organisation is desirable, though not essential.

About Faringdon Community College

Faringdon Community College opened under its current name in 2000, having previously been known as Tollington Secondary Modern School. Located in the town of Faringdon, Oxfordshire, the school provides a co-educational secondary education for students aged 11-18.

In 2012, the school became part of the Faringdon Academy of Schools, alongside seven others. The Faringdon Academy of Schools includes institutions at all stages of children’s education and allows providers in the local area to work more closely together.

Faringdon Community College provides for around 1,500 secondary and sixth-form students.
