The Trust places significant importance on developing strong financial management within each academy and across the network. This post would contribute to this area of development.


About the role

To assist in Financial accounting, reporting and forecasting processes.

  • Raise purchase orders for all sites around the Trust.
  • Maintain an accurate record of open purchase orders.
  • Help site staff with posting good’s received notes.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly management reporting and forecasts.
  • Assist with preparation of budget presentation packs.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and control account reconciliations
  • Assist with preparation of VAT return workings
  • Calculate and post journals, e.g. payroll journals, GAG income journals
  • Check employee expense claims
  • Process sales invoices
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Prepare reports or analysis as required to support requests from FC
  • Prepare audit information requests as required, on time, to a high quality.
  • Other duties as appropriate, for example assisting the FC with follow-up of internal audit actions.
  • Admin and other filing tasks

37 hours a week – 52 weeks a year – permanent contract

Who we are looking for

  • Ideally good A-Levels (C grade and above), with strong GCSE grades or equivalent including Maths (minimum grade A) and English Language (minimum grade B)
  • Intermediate Excel user
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to communicate concisely and effectively
  • Highly numerate, logical and analytical thinker
  • Well organised with good planning skills and the ability to deliver to agreed target dates
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, inquisitive approach to learning, reliable, team-player
  • Suitability for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
