Bohunt School Wokingham (BSW) is looking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and innovative individual with an excellent track record; to help shape and ensure the success of our new-build secondary school. The school opened in September 2016 with Year 7, and will grow to a roll of 1200 students, aged 11-16, by September 2020, with a final phase addition of a sixth form of up to 300 by September 2022. Designs and layouts of the new school buildings are accessible on the school website. http://www.bohuntwokingham.com/

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the leadership of a school house and the wellbeing and achievement of students within their house. There will be an emphasis on student engagement and enjoyment at school and an overview of student welfare and wellbeing. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing their own House and as part of a team of achievement coordinators with the Senior Achievement Coordinator driving forwards the ethos and vision of the school within the House system. Interest in the new school has been high and as a new and growing school we are already oversubscribed. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a leader who can bring creativity, innovation and dynamism. A desire to be a big player in the development of a hugely ambitious brand new school is essential. Potential is just as important as experience.

You will need to demonstrate a commitment to and evidence of success in sustaining academic excellence, and development of the wider aspects of school life; that enable every child to succeed. Applicants should be excellent classroom practitioners in their own right; as well as being able to; work as part of a team, roll up your sleeves and inspire other staff to excel. The role is not exclusive to teachers and applications from support staff with the necessary skills and capabilities will also be considered.

The South of England based Bohunt Educational Trust has evolved from Bohunt School in Hampshire, which is rated Outstanding in every category by Ofsted and the Times Educational Supplement School of the Year 2014.  BET's educational philosophy is encapsulated by three short verbs: Enjoy, Respect and Achieve.

Potential candidates are strongly advised to make informal enquiries to: Mr Ben Godber, Head of School, Bohunt School Wokingham, by e-mailing on head@bohuntwokingham.com If you are interested visiting the school please contact srolland@bohuntwokingham.com  to arrange a suitable time.

Bohunt School Wokingham opened its doors to Year 7 pupils in 2016. Having grown substantially since then, we are now heavily oversubscribed, with a school roll of 1200 students aged 11-16. With the exciting announcement of our expansion to include a sixth form and additional spaces in all year groups, we will soon see more students through to 18.

Our ethos of ‘enjoy, respect, achieve’ underpins our vision to give all students an outstanding education and develop skills in the classroom and beyond. These core values help our students flourish throughout their school career, and on into later life. Reflective of the success achieved in its first three years, Ofsted recognised that the “overall educational experience for many pupils at the school is ‘life-changing’.”

Our new site has been designed and built with education at the forefront and includes specialist teaching spaces and a whole school one to one iPad provision, as well a wide range of sports and extra-curricular provision. We are leaders in outdoor education with an outdoor classroom, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and Big Expeditions to wilderness locations, alongside a variety of other trips at home and abroad.

We are part of the supportive and innovative Bohunt Education Trust, a MAT with eight schools including two Sixth Forms and a boarding facility. We may be separated geographically, however, all BET schools are student centred, sharing an uncompromising belief in high achievement and unconditional positive expectations, a real sense of community and a dynamic, innovative approach to education.

Candidates are welcome to visit the school to discuss any roles and gain a sense of our educational ethos and culture.
