Job overview

Ashbourne College is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Events and Activities Officer to organise, manage and evaluate key School events and activities.

The successful candidate should have proven experience of planning events including a thorough knowledge of the issues and best practice relating to event organisation, such as risk assessment, first aid and emergency protocols.

The role holder will have a pro-active “can-do” and flexible approach to work with a highly professional attitude and the ability to attend evening events when required, such as Parents’ evening, Open Evening and Evening activities.

In addition to excellent written and verbal communication and organisational skills the post holder will have the ability to prioritise between tasks, balancing short term and longer term objectives.

The role holder will produce high quality work to tight deadlines and be able to work under pressure while maintaining excellent customer service skills, be able delegate effectively and motivate and the Student Council.

The successful candidate will also be involved in the College’s Career’s programme and will need to be proactive in looking and planning for Year 11 and Year 12 career development programmes.

Ashbourne Independent Sixth Form College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, general further education college situated in Kensington, West London.

The college was founded as Ashbourne Independent College in 1981 and was co-educational from the start. It is a member of the Council for Independent Further Education (CIFE). A smaller than average institution of its type, the college provides 157 places for students between the ages of 13 and 21 when fully subscribed.
