Job overview

The Gatwick School is looking for a dynamic and driven Admin & Communications Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly improving all through school and shape the admin services, as well as enhancing the external communications to promote the school's values.


Working hours:

Permanent – 30hrs per week (08:00-16:00 four days per working week e.g. Monday to Thursday)

Term time (39 weeks) plus 2 weeks during the holidays (dates to be agreed – flexible working including working from home during the holidays considered)


The role: 

  • To manage the school's admin processes, line manage and coach the Reception team and develop the admin service offering
  • To manage the external communications and marketing of the school, in order to promote the school’s ethos and values
  • To update the school website
  • To generate ideas and initiatives to support the positive promotion of the school to new and existing parents/carers


We are looking for individuals who have: 

  • Proven people development skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage others
  • Strong organisational skills, effective time management and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Can quickly build effective working relationships with all stakeholders 
  • Are able to use initiative, be decisive and can communicate professionally with confidence
  • Are highly computer literate, with strong capability in email, MS Office and management information systems
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Experience of working in a fast paced office environment

Opened in 2014, and judged 'Good' by Ofsted in all areas.  The Gatwick School is a state-funded all-through school based in Crawley, West Sussex. Teaching children aged 4-16, the school is non-denominational and mixed gender. Located on Gatwick Road, it is less than a mile from the international airport of the same name.

The school can be accessed on public transport by the Metrobus network, with the Gatwick Road North bus stop situated outside the school. The Gatwick School has a breakfast club and runs OASIS clubs at the end of the day for after-school intellectual stimulation.
