Administration Assistant

St Joseph’s Primary School has a Temporary Part-time Administration Assistant available. This position will assist with the process of casual’s replacements, Monday to Friday commencing approx 6:30am from home. This position will commence Thursday 24th January 2019 until Friday 20th December 2019. This position will allow for some flexibility during the morning timeslot, however, you will be required to be on site at St Joseph’s Primary School from 7:45am each morning during school terms.


INDICATIVE DUTIES:

  • All administrative support required for Payroll purposes.
  • Book casual staff required for the daily running of the school.
  • Maintain and update Casual List, Casual Book and relevant records.
  • Updating Staff Daily Notices and weekly staffing plan, staff memo.
  • In conjunction with leadership staff, update and maintain resource funding for casual day allocation.
  • Update and maintain specific funding codes for identified purposes.
  • Create rosters and timetables (playground duties, staffroom, space bookings, lunch activities).
  • Any other tasks or requirements as directed by the Principal.


ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • ability to handle tasks with a high degree of confidentiality;
  • ability to identify the Mission of a Catholic School and demonstrate Christian Values in dealings with staff;
  • cheerful and calm disposition with a welcoming and friendly demeanour;
  • well-developed communication, administrative and office skills with an ability to deal tactfully,
  • confidently and effectively with people at all levels;
  • capacity to take direction and willingness to work as part of a team;
  • capable of efficient use of staffing reporting, recording and allocation and any other aspects of supporting leadership for school administration;
  • capacity to show initiative and demonstrate effective time management, organisational and planning skills with an ability to meet pressing deadlines and competing priorities;
  • knowledge and experience of Google Suite;
  • current NSW WWC Check.


DESIRABLE

  • ability to be flexible with hours when required;
  • support school extra curricula events

Curriculum

St Joseph's follows the recommended NSW Board of Studies curriculum guidelines with the implementation of traditional core disciplines. The Key Learning Areas are English, Mathematics,  Science and Technology, Religious Education, Human Society and its Environments, Creative Arts and Personal Development and Health and Physical Education. Drama, dance, chess, gardening, choir and band practice are also available. Additionally, students have the opportunity to get involved in various sporting events, these include the swimming carnival, cross country and the athletics carnival.
