 Description

St Pauls Catholic College (Yrs 7-12) is seeking a highly capable teacher with established organisational skills to undertake the role of Administration Coordinator designed to assist in the provision of quality Catholic education for students by taking responsibility for a diverse range of administrative tasks that ensure the smooth and professional operation of the school. The coordinator has specific responsibility for a variety of administrative tasks as outlined below. The coordinator is a member of the School's leadership team, which comprises the Principal, Assistant Principal(s) and other coordinators. As a member of the leadership team the coordinator will offer assistance and support in:
• the day to day operation of the School
• promotion of the Catholic ethos of the School
• the implementation of the School's policies and procedures
• the promotion of the hospitality, accessibility and visibility of the leadership team 


 Position Requirements

The Administration Coordinator must be able to demonstrate the following skills and personal qualities:
• An understanding of and a clear commitment to the philosophy and objectives of Catholic education.
• A capacity and willingness, to fulfil the requirements of a middle leadership position within a secondary school.
• A capacity and willingness to professionally develop self and staff.
• A high level of proficiency as a classroom teacher.
• Ability to contribute to the development of the school as a faith community.
• Capacity to collaborate in the promotion of the school as a centre of quality teaching and learning.
• Capacity to contribute to the development of a cohesive staff community.
• Ability to contribute to the effective leadership and administration of the school.
• Ability to implement structures and procedures that are conducive to the efficient daily functioning of the school.
• Proven administrative experience.
• Competence in a suite of administrative software that might include: Edval, Compass and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in using database applications.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the clear ability to be able to work effectively with a range of people including students, staff and parents.
• Personal initiative, good system and time management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, sensitivity and exceptional professionalism at all times. 


 Essential Criteria

• applicants will need to comply with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead (formerly FEA) and will need to work towards Accreditation at Category C – Accreditation for Leadership.
• be appropriately qualified as a four year trained Secondary teacher
• record current NESA and Working With Children number on application
• evidence of completion of Anaphylaxis training certificate must be supplied. (https://etraining.allergy.org.au/login/index.php)

St Paul’s High School is a co-educational, non-selective, Roman Catholic, independent day school serving students from Years 7 to 12. The secondary school is located in Booragul, Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, and has approximately 950 pupils on its roll.

Established by the Catholic Church Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle in 1984, the school was upgraded over the past decade with new buildings. Students are mainly taken from six nearby Catholic primary schools as well as from local government schools.

St Paul’s High School has four seminar rooms, a computer room, a science laboratory, multi-purpose hall, two music rooms and IT facilities in every classroom. The school recently built a commercial-quality kitchen and workshops for construction classes. In 2015 it opened a new library and technology hub, along with seven new classrooms. 

Curriculum

The school teaches pupils in all secondary years but has a particular focus on the final two senior years. It has a gifted and talented coordinator who promotes activities including mock trials, public speaking, engineering challenges and competitions in writing, maths and science. Students are offered language classes and cultural experiences in Japanese and French. The school hosts two visual art shows each year as well as concert band performances and music and drama nights. Students are offered a range of sporting activities including surfing and walking on top of more traditional sports.
