Job overview

Ready to help children and young people get the best possible start in life? If so, you could do something amazing, playing an integral role at Ashbrooke School, part of the Witherslack Group, helping us change young lives. Our experts provide first-class care and education through our state-of-the-art homes and schools. So, by joining us, you’ll be helping children develop by supporting our dedicated team. In return, we’ll help you grow too!

Like all Witherslack Group schools, Ashbrooke School offers state-of-the-art learning resources and well equipped environments. The school is housed in the Former Sunderland High Primary School building, a purpose built property with great facilities including a full size sports hall, separate school hall, MUGA etc.

The role

This role is for 20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

You will be dealing with a wide range of administrative tasks, from answering telephone queries, ordering stock to updating records. By liaising with various teams and agencies, you will help children join us where they’ll have the support to go far. With our commitment to staff development, you’ll be advancing too.

Your profile

You will be able to demonstrate excellent administration skills, ideally within a busy office environment, be IT literate and have a keen eye for detail. However, it’s your gift for dealing with people that will make all the difference. Professional, helpful and friendly, you’ll be great in a team. Your ability to empathise with how parents feel, whilst also showing a real understanding of the views of our schools and head teachers will set you in good stead. To join us, you’ll need at least five GCSEs (NVQ2) including Maths and English, plus experience of minute taking.

For children with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. With our high staff-to-child ratio and in-house clinical teams, we’re proud to have won a reputation for excellence. Our aspirational homes, schools and ethos help us achieve the best possible outcomes. In short, we’re enhancing life opportunities.

Rewards

Pro rata salary for 20 hours per week: £9,557 - £10,092

We know you’re going to do great things. We offer a salary and benefits package that’s among the best in our sector.
