Job overview

About Open Sky International

Open Sky International is looking for a highly effective Admissions Officer to play a key role in our school in Boulogne-Billancourt, on the outskirts of Paris. Our vision is to provide a bilingual English/French education of excellence, and our academic curriculum is built on the strongest aspects of a range of international programmes and teaching and learning methodologies. From the outset, we have high expectations of students and our curriculum is rigorous, broad and engaging. Classes are small and students are courteous, hardworking and motivated. We are a fully international school, welcoming French and expatriate families, and we are proud of our multicultural school community.

Our school is still relatively young and is the first international school opened by OSI, an ambitious and innovative new education group based in Paris. Other OSI schools have recently opened in Egypt and Morocco and will open in other locations internationally over the next five years.

Who are we looking for?

We now require an Admissions Officer, who will be responsible to the school’s owners and Headteacher for all aspects of the student recruitment and admissions process and will act as our ambassador with prospective students and their families. This position is an exciting opportunity for a proactive candidate with initiative and drive.

To join us, you’ll need previous relevant experience in school admissions or a similar sales-orientated role and excellent IT and organisational skills. Previous experience within a school setting is desirable, however your potential to work within our team is more important. The Admissions Officer appointed will be required to liaise on admissions enquiries with individual families, prospective business clients or potentially both at the discretion of the school’s owners.

The successful candidate will also:

• Have a suitable qualification in a relevant discipline, or recent experience in an related field.

• Have the confidence, knowledge and ability to develop and maintain a range of school admissions systems.

• Offer a first-class customer service experience to all stakeholders in a proactive and target-driven manner.

• Be capable of working on their own initiative, organising and managing their workload and capable of working successfully under pressure if required.

• Consider themselves as members of a team and always aim to work collaboratively.

• Have excellent interpersonal skills. You will instil confidence within the school community, by adopting a tactful, confidential and professional approach when liaising with students, parents, businesses, colleagues and outside agencies.

• Have very effective written and spoken communication skills, and be fluent in both French and English.

• Maintain at all times high standards of professional behaviour towards colleagues, students and parents and be a positive role model for students.

• Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school.

Why choose us?

OSI offers a competitive salary and a range of potential benefits, including a bonus for attracting and enrolling students. To find out more about us, please visit our website.

How to apply

Ideally we would like the successful candidate to work with us as soon as possible. Interviews will begin as soon as suitable candidates apply, and the advert may close earlier if a suitable candidate is found. Early applications are therefore encouraged to avoid disappointment.

About Open Sky International France

Open Sky International schools prepare pupils to succeed in a rapidly changing, competitive and multicultural world. We have a real passion for education and our curriculum, teaching and learning methodology are built on the strongest aspects of a range of international curricula. We have high expectations and standards from the beginning for all children and we aim for our curriculum to be rigorous, broad and engaging. We understand that children are powerful learners, and we are confident that every child will make progress with the right strategies and support. This is why we do not practise selection at the admissions stage; instead, we believe that the role of a school is to enable all of its students to realise their potential.

Our curriculum targets both academic excellence and children’s personal development. We believe that academic excellence is compatible with children being fulfilled at school and respect, work, effort and critical thinking are all core elements of our philosophy.

Mastering languages is the key to cultures and to culture. Our group educational vision is for all pupils to achieve equal oral and written proficiency in French and English by the time they leave school. In addition, we believe that exposure to international cultures helps children to develop critical thinking and a set of values free of prejudice. We aim to provide children with the tools they will need to make the right choices in an open and globalised world, so that they can succeed in France or elsewhere. Our curriculum framework at all stages has been carefully designed to achieve this vision.
