Actual salary range: £30,032 - £35,849 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work with some of the most vulnerable learners in Calderdale. Alternative provision across the borough is at capacity; this has contributed to a significant increase in children being permanently excluded from our schools. We are determined to address this situation.

Over the last 8 months we have been working hard to put plans in place for additional alternative provision places. This includes overstaffing on teaching so that we have capacity to educate students off-site, meeting with behaviour specialists and viewing local sites that can host the provision. We have now located a building that we are developing in time for September. Our ambition is to start the provision for Trinity Academy Grammar students, and then expand this to offer places to other secondary schools within the local authority. We have not put a timeframe on this as we want to ensure we concentrate on providing the very best offer for a small number of our own students before we begin to scale this up.

We are looking for someone with a passion for making a difference to the lives of young people to lead this development and help us to address the lack of alternative provision available to 11 - 16-year-olds in the local area. We are committed to this project and have resourced it accordingly.

There will be an information evening at Trinity Academy Grammar on Tuesday 12 July at 17:00 for anyone who would like more information about this position. If you would like to attend this event please register your interest with Louise Sanderson at lsanderson@grammar.trinitymat.org.

In the meantime please see below for more information about the school, alternatively, please visit our website.

Trinity Academy Grammar joined the Trinity Multi-Academy Trust in October 2018 and is now recognised under the body of World Class schools.  Working closely with outstanding leaders from across the trust, the academy is characterised by its high aspirations and ambitions.  Targeted and effective support systems have been implemented in order to create an environment where our students experience an outstanding education with no limit to what they can achieve.

GCSE results are a validation of the work we have undertaken to transform the academy and the results mean the academy is now recognised as one of the most improved schools in the country.  As a result, this is a truly exciting time for us. We are determined to build on our success, increasing student numbers and constantly striving to better serve our students.

Our vision is to be the most transformational academy in England. If you would like to be part of our journey we look forward to hearing from you.

The Trinity MAT were first approached to work with the then Sowerby Bridge High School, when it had been graded as inadequate by Ofsted and had been ranked in the bottom 15% of all schools nationally.

After joining the MAT in 2018 the progress made has been outstanding. The academy has improved its Progress 8 outcome by 0.92 and the performance puts us comfortably in the top 1% of most improved schools in the country.

In September 2021 we will be adopting the new name of Trinity Academy Grammar to better communicate our identity, high standards and aspirations for our students. We have chosen a name which truly reflects our grammar school heritage, and to better showcase our core values of Empathy, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, as we continue to build on this legacy through our outstanding achievements and passion to help our students reach their full potential.

It is a very exciting time to be considering joining Trinity Academy Grammar.  We can offer candidates the opportunity to work in partnership with the Principal and the senior leadership team, teachers in the school and other professionals across the trust (including the Teaching School and West Yorkshire Maths Hub).

The working environment is supported by committed, hardworking and supportive colleagues who are focused on improving outcomes for our students. Comprehensive pastoral systems are embedded to ensure the behaviour of students is outstanding and they are happy and supported in their learning.

As an academy we have high expectations of staff, we expect staff to challenge our students and themselves. We set high standards and aim to display these in all that we do. Working for Trinity Academy Sowerby Bridge is rewarding, we can offer a fantastic environment, excellent CPD programmes and a range of opportunities to progress. These ambitions are shared across all schools within the trust.
