Job overview

An exciting new programme for apprentices involving Supporting Teaching and Learning in School Sports is being launched this summer by Shrewsbury Colleges Group.  This post offers the opportunity to lead on this by teaching theory at our London Road campus one day per week plus visiting the apprentices in the participating schools for on-site assessments.  The successful applicant must have a background in teaching sport in a school and ideally hold the Assessor Award, though training would be offered for the right candidate. This is a term time contract with an additional 2 weeks in August for intensive training prior to the apprentices being deployed into their schools which are based in the Telford area. The successful candidate will undertake a variety of duties associated with: pedagogic work; staff development; curriculum development; research and consultancy; student guidance and welfare; management/administration. May include some evening work.
