Archdiocesan Sports and Road Safety Coordinator (Part time 0.8 FTE)

Temporary Part-Time opportunity commencing 7 January 2018 to 6 January 2021. 

Catholic Education, Canberra and Goulburn plays an integral role in education both in the ACT and NSW, covering 88,000 square kilometres covering the whole of the ACT and extending from Pambula on the south coast, to Crookwell in the North, through to the western point of Lake Cargelligo. Operating 56 Schools and 8 Early Learning Centres Catholic Education Canberra & Goulburn is key to education of over 21,000 students within the Diocese and employing over 2100 professionals.

We are seeking an experienced Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating sports activities across the ACT and NSW for both Primary and Secondary schools within the Archdiocese, as well as overseeing the NSW Road Safety Education program.

You will also provide advice and support for organisers of school sports carnivals, as well as be responsible for coordination and officiating of the Archdiocesan Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals.

To be successful in this role you will have previous experience as a Sports Coordinator at school or representational level, including a good understanding of representative sport pathways both in the ACT and NSW. You will have excellent communication and facilitation skills with an ability to build strong relationships with broad stakeholder base, as well as solid project/time management skills.

You will demonstrate strong alignment with and commitment to the values of Catholic Education and hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with proven experience as a Sports Coordinator. This role may be undertaken in conjunction with a substantive teaching position, where a school based 0.2 FTE (1 day per week) teaching load is agreed.
