PHC are seeking an inspirational, creative and dedicated Art Teacher to join our friendly and energetic art department. Applicants should demonstrate a strong ability to work with a broad range of art media and be able to teach art across all age ranges. An ability to teach Photography or Ceramics would be desirable but not essential. Alongside teaching, the role will encompass assisting the Head of Department and rest of the team with the co-curricular Art activities, exhibitions of work and the general day to day running of a lively department.
The well-equipped department offers a wide range of experiences for pupils and has a dark room, photography studio and a kiln room. The Department currently offers Art and Photography at GCSE and A Level. At KS3, pupils experience a wide range of art disciplines including drawing, painting, printmaking, textiles, digital media and ceramics.
There is currently a strong Art tradition at the School and along with the rest of the department you will be involved in promoting a lifelong appreciation and passion for Art. This role requires someone to help develop pupils interest in and ability for the Arts whilst encouraging individuals to develop their own skills and talents. Candidates should be committed to creating the best possible outcomes for all pupils as well as teaching Art across the school to a high standard.
We would love to hear from enthusiastic people with a passion for working with diverse, curious and ambitious pupils. The successful candidate will have ideas for building on the success of the department; they will be motivated, well organised, love teaching and keen to work as part of a team.
The successful candidate should hold a valid D1 minibus driving licence and a First Aid at Work Certificate. If they do not hold these, it is essential that the successful candidate is willing to complete the necessary training required to gain these.
