Part time, term time only (6 hours per week)

We are seeking to appoint a part-time Art technician to join the staff of the senior school and play a key role providing support to teaching staff in the smooth running of the Art Department. 

Your main responsibilities will include preparing resources and equipment (wood, metal, clay, plastics, fabrics, paper, paint etc.), assisting students with jobs in the workshop, maintaining studios, the darkroom and storerooms and undertaking general administrative work.

This is a busy and dynamic department where all members of the department work collaboratively sharing both good practice and resources. The Art Department is housed in superb purpose-built accommodation which consists of two large ground floor studios with a mezzanine gallery area, an adjacent darkroom and a ceramics/3D studio with clay room, kiln and preparatory room. There is an excellent Art Library with reading area and the Department has a Mac suite. 

An enthusiasm for Art and/or Photography and a willingness to support the creative life of the department are essential requirements. The successful candidate will have relevant experience gained within an educational setting and will be able to demonstrate evidence of establishing positive relationships with children.
