We are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Art Technician to join the School’s Arts & Media Faculty. A shared vision of a core academic education enriched by a creative curriculum is essential to produce the best outcomes for our young people.

As a technician you will assist teachers with the preparation of art materials for lessons as prescribed in the faculty scheme of work. Organising and maintaining art equipment and providing teachers and students with efficient technical support is key. Leading art specific extracurricular activities such as Art club and technical support for GCSE Art, school productions and exhibitions will also be an expectation. The role will involve a significant contribution to how the school environment is presented to reflect our specialism.

About Arts & Media School Islington

Arts & Media School Islington is a co-educational, comprehensive trust foundation school in north Islington, London. 

The Victorian school building was originally home to Montem Street School, later becoming known as Tollington Park Secondary School and, more recently, as George Orwell School.

In 2014, Arts & Media School Islington was selected to be one of 12 schools in London to participate in the Music in Secondary Schools Trust  (MISST) programme, which aims to develop team-working skills, improve discipline and enrich the learning of students through the creativity of music.

Key stage 3 students at Arts & Media School Islington receive an orchestral string instrument alongside compulsory musical education for three years, all free of charge.
