Term time only plus one week

Required September 2019

A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic Art Technician to work within the vibrant Art Department at Woldingham School. You will support teachers in planning and preparing lessons and providing advice and practical guidance to students. The hours of work are 37.5 worked over five days during term time, plus one additional week. There is an expectation of additional hours during the summer term for the purposes of exhibiting students’ work.

You will ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent in a related subject and must have good proficiency in IT, as well as being organised and flexible in your way of working.

Our Art Department has some excellent facilities in ceramics, print, textiles and fine art. A large number of students study the subject at GSCE onwards and it is a core subject at Key Stage 3. Experience of working with ceramics, dark room photography, printing and IT would be desirable.

You will have the confidence to give practical demonstrations to students and work well within a team. A working knowledge of art materials, health and safety and COSHH would be an asset for you.

Woldingham is a happy and successful Catholic boarding and day school for girls aged 11 to 18 and is firmly established as one of the top girls’ independent schools in the UK, outperforming many schools that are far more selective in their admissions process. Central to this achievement is Woldingham’s academic enrichment and extra-curricular programmes, pastoral support and caring community. Close to London, yet in an outstandingly beautiful rural setting, Woldingham has a strong community and culture building on a proud heritage that stretches back 175 years. We are committed to an exciting future that is underpinned by fresh ideas, an innovative spirit and state-of-the-art facilities.
