Your opportunity

We are looking for an Assistant Compliance Officer to support the Head of Compliance within the Harris Federation central team. There is an ever growing requirement to comply with government legislation, particularly in the non-teaching areas of school life, and as part of the compliance team you will support 47 schools educating some 32,000 young people. If you are interest in education management and want a role where you can make a real difference, this could be for you. ​

The post is primarily office based at our central offices at East Croydon, however there will be a requirement to visit Harris academies. It is a fast paced, varied and interesting environment. No previous expertise in an educational environment is required as training will be provided as necessary

What we are looking for

The successful applicant should have previous experience in a relevant field and be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of governance and compliance in relation to one or more areas of the job responsibilities. We are ideally looking for applicants that have previous experience working in a school/education setting or similar, and possess the skills and abilities to manage multiple tasks and work to project deadlines.

You should have the ability to help build the commitment of all stakeholders to a culture of constant excellence that will put learning first. You will also need:

  • General administration experience, with advanced MS Word, Excel and Outlook skills;
  • The ability to communicate with a wide range of people, both orally and using written communication;
  • The ability to manage your own time effectively and prioritise work in a demanding environment;
  • The ability to work effectively within a team;
  • To be a professional who understands the need for discretion and confidentiality.
