Assistant Cook (Part-time)

As an Assistant Cook at Hall Cliffe School, you’ll be in the kitchen and front of house, preparing and serving a range of tasty, nutritious food. You’ll be working at the heart of our school, serving staff, our young people and visitors. We’ll expect you to follow food hygiene rules and keep health and safety in mind. But the key is to create varied menus that encourage our young people to try new food. You’ll help plan meals, taking into account any specific dietary requirements. 

We’re ideally looking for you to have catering experience gained in a professional setting, but if you are a highly competent home cook who copes well with feeding the masses, we’d still like to hear from you. A Basic Food Hygiene & Safety Certificate would be beneficial as would GCSEs or an equivalent qualification in Catering, for example, an NVQ Level 2. However, to be part of our team, the key ingredient is having the right attitude. If you’re hard working, friendly and dependable, you could be the perfect fit. 

Hall Cliffe School is a day school catering for up to 104 boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 16. The school is located in a beautiful Grade 2 listed building, with state of the art facilities, which allow us to deliver a creative curriculum. Alongside our academic subjects, our young people have access to our brand new, off site Vocational Centre that opened in September 2018. We offer courses such as Motor Vehicle, Construction and Hair and Beauty, allowing our young people to grow and reach their full potential.

This role is for 20 hours per week, between 10.30am – 2.30pm with some flexibility required.
