Wardle Academy seeks to appoint an inspirational teacher of Spanish with the ability to also teach French, to join our team of dedicated and talented staff. We are looking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and dynamic teacher as Assistant Curriculum Leader of our successful MFL department, where standards are high, and we strive for excellence. Applicants must be able to teach Spanish to KS4, and French to at least KS3. They will be expected to demonstrate a track record of excellent teaching and purposeful learning. 

We seek a consistently good/outstanding practitioner who will deliver across the whole age and ability range, have a good understanding of language pedagogy as well as a proven record of successful KS4 results. This is an exciting time for the MFL department as a new Curriculum Leader of MFL has been in post since September and she, together with the successful candidate for this post will have the opportunity to shape and develop a really strong and innovative department. This position is perfect for an excellent Teacher of MFL who is seeking career progression. 

The successful candidate will have the ability to plan effective lessons, using student data to inform planning and progression. You will also have high expectations of students, based on a sound knowledge of their prior and potential attainment.

Whilst ensuring effective whole class, group or individual learning opportunities are available to students which engage and challenge all ability levels, you will set high standards of expectations of students’ behaviour through good classroom discipline, and reinforcing literacy skills within MFL lessons. 

The successful candidate will also be encouraged and fully supported to gain national professional qualifications as well as access to a full range of in-house CPD.

Wardle Academy is part of the Wardle Trust and is located in a semi-rural setting serving many local communities. The school is easily accessible, within close proximity to the M62 motorway and Smithy Bridge train station.

We aim to provide an excellent all-round education within a safe environment of modern facilities and resources. Our dedicated team of high quality teaching and associate staff raise the attainment and aspirations of our young people above and beyond national attainment.

We are a successful 11-16 school with a strong tradition at GCSE, excellent pastoral care and guidance and  exceptional provision for music. In December 2017 we were graded good by Ofsted in every category.

In recent years the school has continued to flourish. We focus on success in the core subjects of English, Maths and Science, but recognise the need for our students to do well across all areas. Sports, Performing Arts and extra-curricular opportunities are strong, with achievement in a wide range of enrichment areas.
