We are looking for a highly inspired and motivated Assistant Education Social Worker who is committed and passionate about meeting the needs of our students so they can achieve their potential.  

The assistant ESW will need to have excellent communication skills. They will work closely with our highly experienced ESW, supporting and liaising with staff, parents and external agencies to ensure identified student’s needs are met.  

The successful candidate will help to support with all aspects of administration including attendance issues, reports, initial assessment writing and logging incidents/concerns. 

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold both English and Maths GCSE at C grade or higher.
  • Show commitment in all areas of safeguarding and keeping children safe in education.
  • Bring enthusiasm, flexibility and an openness to new approaches.
  • Have excellent communication and organisation skills. 

This is a brand new role and an exciting opportunity to be involved in an academy that has 21st century facilities, and will improve the lives of future generations of students and the community in Bournemouth.

About The Bishop of Winchester Academy

The Bishop of Winchester Academy, based in Bournemouth, Dorset, is a Church of England secondary school that prides itself on its curriculum, governance and outstanding student behaviour. Students aged 11-18 experience teaching in new state-of-the-art buildings and have first-class resources at their fingertips. The school operates in an area where there are schools that select for entry on grounds of ability.

The mixed secondary school was opened in September 2010 as a sponsor-led academy. In September 2014, the Bishop of Winchester Academy extended its educational opportunities by opening its own sixth form.
