Job overview
Assistant Faculty Leader for Mathematics (TLR 2 currently £4735 p.a)
Do you want to be part of our success story where 76% of our Sixth Form mathematicians achieved A* and A grades last summer? We are seeking to appoint an inspirational teacher with the skills, experience and energy to support the Faculty Leader of this thriving Faculty from September 2018.
In the summer the tremendous achievement of 76% of our Sixth Form Maths cohort achieving A* and A grades, saw us as the only comprehensive school in the Country reported on in the Guardian Newspaper. Maths is a strong subject in school where students achieve well and is taught to A Level, including Further Maths.
This is an exciting time to be joining Gosford Hill School as it enters the next phase of its journey under the leadership of its new Headteacher, who took up post from Easter 2016. Visits to the school, by arrangement, are welcome. Gosford Hill School is an oversubscribed school, situated in Kidlington, on the north western edge of Oxford near to the new Oxford Parkway Station (a 50 minute journey from London). We are also fortunate to be at the gateway to the rural Cotswolds. If you are interested in the post, please complete a Gosford Hill School application form and include a letter (of no more than 2 sides of A4) outlining your reasons for applying and your suitability for the post. Application forms and further details are available on the school’s website or from Nicola Cooke, Headteacher’s PA (tel. 01865 374971; email jobapplications@gosford-hill.oxon.sch.uk The closing date for receipt of applications is noon on Monday 29th January 2018. Interviews will take place on Monday 5th February 2018.

About Gosford Hill School
Welcome to Gosford Hill School
It’s a pleasure to welcome you to Gosford Hill School. Our school prides itself on the emphasis that we place on the needs, aspirations and achievement of individual students with learning very much at the heart of our work. We want our students to develop as resilient and autonomous learners, keen to overcome challenges, and take risks, so that they gain the transferable skills needed to enable them to lead fulfilling lives as confident and articulate individuals in our society.
Every student has strengths and talents, and it is our job to find and unlock that potential in every student. Whether it’s sport, art, music, Duke of Edinburgh or World Challenge, we celebrate success and recognise that learning goes beyond the classroom. Students are often more likely to remember the wealth and diverse range of opportunities available to them beyond the classroom as they are faced with new and exciting challenges.
We work closely with parents, and it is our belief that where the school, individual student and their parents work closely together, students will succeed.
It’s a privilege to lead such a wonderful school and I do hope that you find the information on our website helpful. There is so much more to learn about our school though, so I would therefore urge you to come and visit us in order to find out and experience for yourself why students, parents, staff and our wider community are so proud of our school.
Mr Nigel J. Sellars
Headteacher
