Assistant Headteacher

 

ISB are looking to recruit 2 full time Assistant Headteachers.

 

The Primary Assistant Headteacher will have responsibility for Teaching and Learning/ Professional Development. This role would suit candidates who are excellent classroom practitioners, clear communicators, capable of giving effective and inspiring leadership to staff, and fully understand the commitment required of all staff in our successful school. They will work closely with the secondary department to ensure high quality professional development for all.

 

The primary role of the Assistant Head is to secure exemplary teaching practices and the most effective use of resources to bring about high standards of student achievement through quality pedagogy best suited to the changing needs of the 21st century. The role will have a 50% teaching commitment. The Assistant Headteacher will be part of a Primary Senior Leadership Team consisting of a Head of School, Deputy Head (Student Achievement) and Assistant Headteacher (Student Welfare and Guidance).

 

The Secondary Assistant Headteacher will join our highly successful Secondary Leadership Team. The post will focus on Student Achievement; leading our Heads of Department and Data Manager to interrogate data, identify patterns and trends, celebrate student success and combat under-performance by designing intervention strategies.

 

It is expected that the Assistant Headteacher in Secondary will demonstrate a range of qualities, qualifications, skills and experience which will enable them to build on the achievements of ISB as one of the foremost inclusive international schools in the region. Most importantly, the successful candidate is expected to have a successful track record in recognising and promoting highly-effective teaching and learning and to have experience in leading teams to improve student outcomes.
