Winstanley College is a mixed, selective, non-denominational, general further education college situated in Wigan, Lancashire. It is a 16-plus institution and a member of the national Maple Group for high-performing sixth-form colleges. There are approximately 1,200 learners at the college, the majority of whom study full-time.

Winstanley College has its roots in Upholland Grammar School, which was founded in 1661 and moved to Winstanley Road in 1953. It gained its current name in August 1977. Since then it has gained a number of accolades, including ranking first in The Guardian’s countrywide A-level results collation in 2010, being named Sixth Form of the Year by The Sunday Times in 2012, and most recently winning Sixth Form of the Year at the TES FE Awards.
