Assistant Head of Secondary

The British School of Beijing Shunyi (BSB), a member of the Nord Anglia Education family of schools, is looking to appoint an outstanding Secondary Assistant Headteacher to take on responsibility for one of the following areas; Curriculum and Operational, Pastoral or the IBDP from August 2019. The successful candidate will work alongside the Secondary Headteacher and Secondary Leadership Team to lead an exceptional team of dedicated colleagues, who share our passion for creating great learning for the leaders of tomorrow, at one of Beijing’s foremost international schools.

The school offers the English National Curriculum at Key Stage 3, I/GCSE at Key Stage 4 and the IB Diploma in Year 12 and 13.

The Role

In addition to being a qualified teacher with up-to-date relevant curriculum knowledge, the successful candidate will:

• Hold a degree and Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent;
• Be an experienced middle or senior leader able to demonstrate the ability to bring out the best in others;

• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills in addition to the skills of school management;
• Engage in the whole school, through extra-curricular activity and learning outside the classroom, as well as within;
• Seek to consistently improve his/her own practice through Continuous Professional Development;
• Be innovative, embrace change and empower others to grow through that change;
• Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school;
• Have at least five years’ experience in teaching (essential for visa regulation although please do ask if unsure).
