Welcome to Guilsborough Academy

At Guilsborough we believe that learning should be enjoyable and challenging. This belief, combined with the excellent teaching skills and commitment of our staff and the enthusiasm and hard work of our students, lies at the heart of our success. All staff at Guilsborough are dedicated to ensuring the very best outcomes for every student.

Our GCSE results are amongst the best in the county and the high achievement of our students in something we are proud of. We offer a broad and well-balanced curriculum which gives students choices in their learning and helps them prepare for the next stage in their lives. Our Sixth Form team are highly experienced and are able to support students as they make their applications for University places or for higher apprenticeships and other pathways.

We believe in nurturing individual strengths within our students and encourage them to explore a wide variety of interests within and beyond the school curriculum. Our aim is to develop thoughtful, kind and considerate adults, who will not only contribute to the school but also to the wider community. Students' personal development and happiness are very important to us and our extensive programme of extra-curricular activities, including excellent Music, Drama and Sports provision, supports this process. We expect high standards of behaviour and believe that strong relationships between staff and students support the standards we expect. Considerate and responsible attitudes and behaviour are fostered through a strong personal and social education programme.

At Guilsborough we celebrate diversity and our intake is fully comprehensive. We are oversubscribed every year and as an inclusive community we have students from a broad range of social and cultural backgrounds. We also have a dedicated team who support students with special educational needs.

We work hard to enhance the links with our feeder schools. This ensures the progression to secondary school is successful and happy for both students and parents/carers. An extensive transition programme supports this process.
