Newham PRUs is a highly-successful, high-achieving federation of two Pupil Referral Unit Schools, delivering transformative education to children and young people of all ages from Primary through to post-16.

From September 2023, we are looking to recruit to the post of Assistant Head Teacher with responsibility as Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo). 

We are seeking a talented, hard-working and inspirational leader, with a particular passion for teaching under-served students. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate absolute understanding of and commitment to the Newham PRUs vision, ethos and values. They will possess the experience, skills and qualities needed to lead and drive continual improvement across our staff team in delivering inclusive, high quality education which leads to meaningful and aspirational outcomes for our young people. Newham PRU is a well-established and successful pupil referral unit providing education for students who have social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and those who are vulnerable or have medical needs. At Tunmarsh school we offer on-site provision for KS3 and KS4.  New Directions PRU offers on-site provision for KS4 students who wish to access a more vocational and applied skills based education programme. We also work with students on ward at Newham University Hospital, Coborn and in the homes of students who, due to illness are unable to attend school.
