The School: 

GEMS Founders Al Mizhar School (GFM) is a new value for money National Curriculum of England School which opened in September 2018 modelled on the highly successful GEMS Founders Dubai School. Initially, it will educate students from FS1 to Year 8 and will build to a full FS to Year 13 School of 4800 students in subsequent years.

The school has a focus on high academic standards, computational thinking, social and emotional Education as well as inclusivity to allow all students to succeed through a range of academic and vocational pathways.

About the Role: 

Due to the continued success of our GEMS Founders School, we are looking to recruit an Assistant Head Teacher – Achievement for Key Stage 4 and 5 for the next academic year. This role will be for a late August 2022 start.

As we expand our provision with our inaugural Year 12 in September 2022, we are looking for a dynamic and competent senior leader to lead on Achievement and Wellbeing in Key Stage 4 and 5.

We are looking for an outstanding, innovative leader to join the GEMS Founders Family. The successful candidate will play a key role in the Associate Senior Leadership Team.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Managing the Quality Assurance of data and assessment in Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
• Ensuring the quality of provision for the use of Data and Assessment in Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
• Optimising wellbeing and maximising attendance in Key Stage 4 and 5.
• Managing these key areas across the school to ensure consistency and impact.
• Working with colleagues to ensure identified groups of students achieve.
• To develop and deliver parental engagement to work with key stakeholders and deliver key messages.
• Support with the self-evaluation and school improvement process for the school in your key area.
• Be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team in all GFM events.

Essential requirements:

• A certified teaching qualification, at degree level such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent . Open University or online degrees are not acceptable.
• At least 3 years of solid and demonstrable experience in senior leadership in a Secondary School in a British curriculum or equivalent experience in a similar role or whole school leadership
• Strong data literacy skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills to work closely with students and parents.

Desirable:

• A leadership qualification such as NPQSL, or NPQH or a master’s degree in educational leadership.
• UAE British School teaching experience.
• Experience of being an effective curriculum leader.
