Job overview
The Board of Governors and Headteacher are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, forward-thinking and inspirational Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for teaching and learning to join our nurturing, student-centred school.
Lampard Community School is a special school that works with children and young people aged 5 - 16 years with complex needs, all of whom have difficulties with communication and interaction (including SLCN and Autism).
We have aspirations for all our students to lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives as adults and want to equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to be able to achieve that. We work closely with parents and carers to support our students in making good progress towards their future goals.
This post is an exciting opportunity to be part of a strong, hard-working and dedicated Leadership Team.
You must be committed to securing the best possible outcomes for students with SEND and have the drive to continually raise standards across the school. You must have an understanding of the importance of working towards aspirations and outcomes as outlined in a student's EHCP. You will be asked to demonstrate how this understanding can lead to innovative and meaningful curriculum development. You will need to have experience of evidencing and tracking progress for students with Special Educational Needs. Ensuring our students consistently access quality first teaching is fundamental to providing the best education we can offer and you will need to evidence your skills and knowledge in this area. You will be a committed and inspirational individual ready to lead the development of teaching and learning practice throughout the school. You will be passionate and knowledgeable about the professional development of teaching and support staff and have experience of technologies to support teaching and learning.
You will have experience in working with students with special educational needs and/or disability and have had experience within a Leadership and Management role.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This role requires a DBS disclosure. This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
