Job overview

 We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Assistant Head Teacher to join our Senior Leadership Team and to help develop our outstanding school, to implement our vision and promote high expectations. You should be able to demonstrate an innovative and creative approach to behaviour management, pastoral support and leadership and management as well as have an excellent understanding of learning and curriculum.  

 

We are looking for a highly skilled, reflective practitioner to undertake the exciting challenge of helping to develop the educational and pastoral support systems within engaging, appropriate and personalised curriculum's - experience in developing working with young people with ASD and previous middle management/leadership, would be an advantage. Furthermore, a commitment to positive behaviour approaches that takes into account the complex learning and sensory needs of our pupils is essential.  The successful candidate will be a clear role model to both students and staff and have a clear understanding of the complex nature of the young people we work with and the day to day running of the school.

The ability to contribute to the development of our school is essential and we believe that energy, passion and a commitment to high standards are key characteristics required. We are looking for a special individual who is able to help inspire and re-engage the young people that we serve. Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate experience and expertise in the following areas:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Contribute to a clear vision for an effective school
  • Initiate and manage change and improvement in order to develop the school, its pupils and its staff
  • On a day-to-day basis, manage and lead staff
  • Deputise for the Deputy Head Teacher when required
  • Take on any additional responsibilities which might, from time to time, be determined
