OUR SCHOOL
The BCAT Trust consists of 3 schools: Barton Court Grammar School, an 11-18 years co-educational grammar school in the heart of Canterbury; The Charles Dickens School, an 11-16 years co-educational non-selective school in Broadstairs and opening in 2022 a Free School, Barton Manor School, an 11-18 years co-educational non-selective school co-sited with Barton Court Grammar School.
The Charles Dickens School is an over-subscribed non-selective, co-educational school which benefits from the state of the art new buildings and is situated in a beautiful part of the South East coast. The school enjoys a good reputation locally, with dedicated colleagues and enthusiastic students. Staff hold high expectations for all students and work tirelessly to continue to raise attainment and achievement.
Required for September 2021, the Governors wish to appoint a highly qualified Assistant Headteacher, who is experienced in senior leadership, and is ambitious for Deputy Headship. We are looking for a well organised, creative, enthusiastic and committed individual to focus on the strategic improvement of pupils' learning, leading on our Thinking Schools accreditation and our Gifted & Talented programme.
You will be joining a highly effective leadership team and will have the ability to make a big impact on raising standards and achievement at the School. The successful candidate will be central to all major strategic decisions and will be leading some of these, working with Governors, staff and students.
