Assistant Headteacher

We have a vacancy for a non- class based assistant headteacher from January 2019.  John Keble School is a two-form entry, happy, vibrant learning community. We are committed to providing the best possible education for all of our children, nurturing and teaching them in a Christian environment.

The successful applicant will join a leadership team consisting of Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and five Assistant Headteachers (four phase leaders and the SENDCo).

Children and families comment on how friendly the school is. We pride ourselves on how well staff are supported and encouraged. With a large leadership team, PPA takes place in teams and planning is joint and creative. We teach in a cross curricular way, planning to the children's interests across the school. The  Ofsted quote above shows how we work effectively as a team, supporting each other. Support staff are included in all our CPD and have weekly tailored sessions. We buy into three different CPD packages to ensure high quality training for all staff. External supervision is also available for staff.

This role involves supporting the headteacher in managing and leading the school as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The role holds both responsibility for leading a phase (currently Year 2 and Year 3) and also leading a core subject area in the school.
