Job overview

Wardle Academy are seeking to recruit, from January 2020, an inspirational Assistant Headteacher to join our team of dedicated and talented staff.

As a leader in a secondary school, you will be able to display the highest levels of energy and enthusiasm, as well as demonstrate impact in your current role.

Wardle Academy was inspected by Ofsted in December 2017 and judged to be good in all aspects. We are determined to carry on improving. An essential part of this is the training and development of staff; we encourage our staff to seek opportunities which will help them further their careers, whilst also providing them with new skills or knowledge.

We can offer you;

  • The opportunity to work with highly committed and enthusiastic staff
  • The chance to help our improving school go from good to outstanding
  • Excellent CPD focused on outstanding teaching and learning and a commitment to allow staff to fully engage in nationally recognised professional qualifications
  • Free flu vaccinations
  • Cycle scheme
  • Access to our newly refurbished swimming pool and fitness suite

Wardle Academy is part of the Watergrove Trust and is located in a semi-rural setting, serving many local communities. The school is easily accessible, within close proximity to the M62 motorway and Smithy Bridge train station.

This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic leader to join the Academy at an exciting stage of its journey.  As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a vital role in taking the school forward.

We aim to provide an excellent all-round education within a safe environment of modern facilities and resources. Our dedicated team of high-quality teaching and associate staff raise the attainment and aspirations of our young people above and beyond national expectations.

To apply for this post, please download the application form and supporting documentation and send completed applications to hr@wardletrust.co.uk.

The closing date is 10 am on Thursday 26th September 2019.

Interviews will take place shortly thereafter.

We warmly welcome and encourage informal visits by prospective candidates. Should you wish to arrange such a visit, please contact Mrs Julie Ashworth, PA to Headteacher (ashworthj@wardleacademy.co.uk ).

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment to this post is therefore subject to pre-employment checks including enhanced Disclosure and Barring and background check.
